The year 2020 has proven to be an extremely busy one for interactions between the Institute and Revenue. The Tax Policy & Representations team engaged with Revenue officials on a weekly – and at times, daily – basis in the early stages of the release of the Covid-19-related support schemes. In Issues 2 and 3 of Irish Tax Review we outlined the work undertaken to represent members’ views on and inform members of the Covid-19-related business supports and tax administration matters since the onset of the pandemic. In this article we provide an overview of the activities and development of the Institute’s Branch Network since it was reconfigured at the end of 2018 to mirror Revenue’s changed operational structure and to continue to provide members with a forum to engage with their Revenue counterparts on tax administration issues.
