Although every taxpayer who appeals to the Tax Appeals Commission (TAC) hopes that the Commission will find in their favour, that does not always happen. This article is concerned with the errors that may be reviewed by the High Court and the standard of review applied to them in an appeal against an unfavourable determination of the TAC by way of case stated. There are other jurisdictional and procedural aspects to these appeals, which are outside the scope of this article.
